If you are not yet familiar with the rules of Skat, it might be better to start with the Shareware Skat 1.1.2 program. You can also download the Macintosh tutorial Skat for Beginners or view the text-only version. Skat 1.1.2 is a more modest program that Skat 2.0 or Skat 3.0, but it takes up less disk space and will get you started. It is also playable on any Mac. After you have mastered the basics, you can then "graduate" to the improved version, Skat 2.0 or Skat 3.0 which contain new game options and sound.

A nice program with 3-D graphics and sound capability, it plays
better than ever, offers a large number of popular options, and
has a new look thanks to drawings by Uli Stein. At the
present time, it is available in a German-language version only.

NetSkat and WinSkat (English or Deutsch)
NetSkat is Michael Fischer's latest Skat program and it's playable
over a Network or the internet. Comprehensive in scope, it offers
a wide variety of tutorials and options in one large package with
German or English card faces, speech capability, sophisticated
playing strategies, a training program, and much more. The popular
WinSkat program is still available for those who don't care about
network play.
